As many of you know who have followed my dearest Katherine’s journey, we visited Colorado Children’s Hospital last week and had a heart catheterization procedure done to open her Fenestration up as she was dealing with major swelling. They found that her SVC and LPA stents were crushed, and they repaired them. Everyone was hoping that would be the fix she needed instead of opening the Fenestration. Katherine did blood work on Monday for her appointment here in New Mexico and we found that her Albumin level is still decreasing. We have added another medication to her regimen, and we will be doing weekly blood draws until further notice. The doctor also put in a standing order to the Infusion center for her Albumin if they need to give it a boost. She has been diagnosed with a serious condition for Single Ventricle kids called Protein-Losing Enteropathy and will need to be constantly monitored. Her cardiologist said her heart looks great, but this is a risk that is associated with the Fontan circulation. This is something that she will deal with along with living with half a heart. I usually do not post incredibly detailed messages because I do not want her to be known as Katherine, the girl with half a heart. She is much more than that, but I am asking for lots of prayers and support as Princess Katherine deals with enough already. Katherine is in no pain and in good spirits. I have decided to start Team Katherine #ALLHEARTWARRIORSMATTER and ride virtually in the Courage Classic benefiting Children’s Hospital Colorado on July 18th and 19th. This hospital does so much for the kids. Message me if you would like to join the team or want to donate to this wonderful hospital. For your donation or joining the team we will be sending everyone a special gift from Katherine. My goal for this year will be 30 miles plus. I am riding for Katherine and ALLHEARTWARRIORS and Angels.
