I ride to honor my late son Sam Schneider who passed away from Ewings Sarcoma in February of 2021. Sam was 20 years old and he loved his family, friends, and riding his mountain bike. Throughout his treatment at Children's, Sam often spoke about wanting to ride the Courage Classic when he was healed up. I ride in his memory as it helps me heal.
I also ride to honor the amazing people at Children's who not only took amazing care of Sam over the last year +, but they also took amazing care of my family. Sam's treatment team became more than our Drs and Nurses...they became family.
Sam's vision was to raise awareness of Ewings Sarcoma and all pediatric cancers so that others would not have to endure the painful journey he traveled. I look forward to riding in support of this vision and in support of ongoing improvements in early diagnosis, improved treatments, and an ultimate prevention of pediatric cancer!
