I've been fundraising since 2006 for charities that I have a personal connection to. When I was approached to ride and fundraise for the Courage Classic, I was excited to ride in Colorado and give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients.
My daughter Lydia was born at 34 weeks. She was born with 5 holes in her heart. After 6 weeks in the NICU, she came home. No meds but weekly visits to her Cardiologist. After 10 weeks, on a visit, her Doctor told us she was not going home. It was time to schedule her open heart surgery. Children's Hospital of WI had an amazing Team of nurses and Doctors caring for Lydia. Her Doctor was the best of the best in performing her surgery.
When Lydia was a teenager, we had a scheduled echocardiogram with her Cardiologist. After reviewing her echo, he told Lydia and I that Lydia's heart looked wonderful. He said, "Lydia, you're going to live a long time as a grandma some day." I immediately cried as we both were so happy with this news.
So I'm happy to support Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation and fundraise with the Cardiac Climbers in 2020!
Thank you always for supporting my fundraising!
