I ride to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients like me.
At 11-years-old and just days before Christmas doctors discovered a tumor the size of half an adult fist in my brain. The tumor turned out to be caused by an aggressive brain cancer (anaplastic ependemoma grade 3 with RelaFusion). Over 2 1/2 years I've undergone 6 brain surgeries and 49 days of radiation. I just finished another 10 rounds of radiation the day before this year's Courage Classic. The tumor and cancer recently came back and although there is no cure for me right now, I remain hopeful.
I stay strong knowing "God's in Control." I'm now 14-years-old and excited to be able to give back and help other kids. I have represented Children's Hospital Colorado as an ambassador for 2020/2021 and I look forward to being at the finish line to cheer on participants at the 2021 Courage Classic.
I'm known in my community for climbing Pikes Peak on my unicycle at 11 years old just prior to getting my diagnosis. I'm into e-biking more now and will be participating in the Courage Classic and doing the 40 mile ride with my moms and friends.
I will not be the last child to face a life-threatening illness, and my family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children.
We hope you'll donate and support our effort to ride and raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado. My goal is $150.
We will be riding with the team Courage from the Springs. Thank you for your support!
