I ride to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients like me.
At 11-years-old and just days before Christmas doctors discovered a tumor the size of half an adult fist in my brain. The tumor turned out to be caused by an aggressive brain cancer (anaplastic ependemoma grade 3 with RelaFusion). Over a six month period I underwent 4 brain surgeries and 33 days of radiation. I'm now cancer free but won't be considered in remission for 10 years and I'm still facing some of the effects of radiation.
I stay strong knowing "God's in Control." I'm now 12-years-old and excited to be able to give back and help other kids. I will be representing Children's Hospital Colorado as an ambassador for 2020/2021 and I look forward to being at the finish line to cheer on participants at the 2020 Courage Classic.
I'm known in my community for climbing Pikes Peak on my unicycle at 11 years old just prior to getting my diagnosis. I'm into road biking more now and will be participating in the Courage Classic on my bicycle and doing the 40 each day.
I will not be the last child to face a life-threatening illness, and my family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children.
We hope you'll donate and support our effort to ride and raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado. My goal is $150.
We will be riding with the team Courage from the Springs. We'd love for you to join our team!
