This year I am honored to participate in the Courage Classic and ride for Children's Hospital and my amazing little buddy, Hazen.
Hazen was born with Trisomy 21 and quite a few heart defects along with a few other health issues. He’s had two open heart surgeries along with a heart catheter procedure. He’s had an intestinal surgery which is doing great and he’s also battled epilepsy. This strong boy still has some heart procedures in his future, but he is the sweetest and happiest little caboose to his family! Hazen and his family have spent nearly half his life in Children’s Hospital Colorado and as much as they hate having to be there, the family loves Children's and how amazing everyone on the staff is. These doctors and nurses really love their patients and Hazen and family love them in return. There are still some battles to win, but Hazen and the family feel lucky to have a dream team at their side!!!
Unfortunately due to the current pandemic, the Courage Classic formal tour was cancelled. However, in order to keep pushing like Hazen and bring support to the staff of Children's, I have chosen to do a 30 mile virtual ride and a 10 mile hike. (FYI, I've never road cycled until my commitment to this cause.)
Please show your support by donating and sharing Hazen's story and hopefully my riding success. Fingers crossed and Thank you.
