This summer I am riding in honor and memory of Koby Gruenwald, who lost his very young life in January 2017, which was during the 7th grade year at school.
While in 5th grade, Koby was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a fast-growing, incurable brain tumor (fewer than 200,000 US cases per year in kids and adults - very rare). Children's Hospital Colorado was amazing in attending to Koby and helping him and his family during his last months of his life.
Koby participated as best he could in the the Courage Classic along with his parents, and his twin siblings (now in 6th grade). The Wheels of Justice team is dedicating the summer of 2020 in honor of Koby. Not only is the Courage Classic an 80 mile challenging first day, but I have decided to do it again to honor the memory of Koby who always saw Light In Darkness. Koby was a true warrior and someone who did show us all how to handle adversity.
Like Koby, so many children face major health issues and the Denver metro commuity is so blessed to have such an amazing hospital to help with all chidren illnesses and diseases. I welcome this opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children by helping to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado and all the great work they do. Krista Boscoe
