I am supporting the Courage Classic for the amazing patients, families and employees at the Children's Hospital of Colorado (CHCO)!
I moved to Denver in 2014 to begin the Physician Assistant program at the University of Colorado. During my clinical rotations in my 3rd year of training, I had the privilege of rotating with the CHCO Bone Marrow Transplant team where a handful of families gave me the honor to join their care team as a student. I learned so much in my short time here about medicine, but more importantly I learned about my community, strength and courage I never imagined possible and about my own personal values. These patients and families taught me to strive for excellence in medicine but also about the better nature of our humanity. These families helped me realize my passion of caring for children and inspired me to start my career as a physician assistant in general pediatrics!
The Courage Classic has reminded me of the amazing opportunity I have and the gifts I can share to my community. Last year was the first time I have accepted such a personal challenge, and it is one of the best things I have done in my life. I am so grateful to be able to attempt such a feat and to be part of such a loving, caring and strong community of patients, families and care takers.
This is one small opportunity for me to make a difference in the lives of children and families! Please join me and donate anything you feel is right for you and your family for such a cause whether it be time, money or thoughts. Thank you all for reading and here's to making a our world a better place!
