Along with the Bison & Oil and Gas Friends Cycling Team, I am riding in the Courage Classic this July to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado. We will be riding ~165 miles with over 16,000’ vertical feet of climbing! The Bison team set a goal to raise over $250,000 because we want to help improve children’s health in our community and the Rocky Mountain Region. This is our fourth consecutive year riding as a team and we are hoping to raising MORE THAN ANY OTHER TEAM IN THE COURAGE CLASSIC THIS YEAR!
We are riding to support the Courage Classic for patients like Chase.
Chase was born 2 months early in full cardiac arrest and spent nearly 3 months in the Children’s Hospital Colorado NICU. He continues to face challenges ranging from respiratory issues to partial blindness.
Chase asked his mom, Laura, if he could ride with her in the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour. Given his medical challenges, this was no small feat, but Chase was determined to learn to ride a bike. After a lot of hard work (and falls), Chase rode with Laura's Durango Derailers Team of family and friends across the Courage Classic finish line -- a true testament to his courage and strength against all odds.
