One of the really amazing services that Children's Hospital Colorado has is the Neuropsychiatric Special Care program. This is an inpatient program that treats kids with severe autism or intellectual disability that are experiencing behavioral or mental health crises. This is one of only a handful of such programs in the country. There are a lot of systems that are involved in making sure that the child can return home safely to their family environment or ensuring that they are placed somewhere that can best care for them. Regardless of insurance or finances, Children's provides amazing care for these kids until the time is right for them to return home.
I am doing the Courage Classic fundraising bike ride in July, 40 miles over Vail Pass on the first day and 40 miles from Copper to Keystone and back, to support the hospital. I am training now and hope you'll consider supporting this ride.
Please join us in supporting Children's Hospital Colorado so that this service, as well as all of their other essential services for kids, can continue to thrive.
