Background on My Involvement:
The image above is a photo of Lydia, as you can probably guess, she is the reason I started riding in the Courage Classic.
When Lydia was born, she had a new undiagnosed genetic disorder. Colorado Children’s hospital was dedicated to diagnosing Lydia, but due to limited technology at the time, it took almost a year for Lydia’s parents (Scott and Cynthia) to finally hear what was affecting Lydia’s health. For that year she requires daily IV treatments for all her nutrition, as well as close monitoring of her liver, kidneys, and blood function. With advancements in medical technology over the years, this process of diagnosis can now be reduced to a matter of days with Rapid Genome Sequencing. The problem with it is that it very expensive and not always covered by insurance. By supporting Team Lydia, you can help provide these tests for families during these times of struggle and uncertainty.
About The Ride:
The Courage Classic is a 1-day event that starts at Copper Mountain here in Colorado. We will ride the Copper Loop, a 78-mile journey gaining more than 7,300 feet of elevation during the ride.
