As many of you know my daughter was born 8 weeks early and due to circumstances we had to take a flight for life to have her delivered in Denver, CO from Durango, Co. Our story is one of a miracle; our daughter was born on May 4, 2016 the same day we took the flight to Denver.
Before she was born we were warned of all of the possible situations that could arise when she came. The most frightening thing for me was the uncertainty, and all of scenarios surrounding premature births. This was my first experience with one, and it holds a very special place in my heart to all the families that go through this and other pediatric emergencies.
Fortunately for us, Ada was mostly healthy for her situation. She had a lot of hurdles ahead of her, however it only took her 4 weeks leave the NICU. She fought her way from 8 weeks early, feeding tubes, and then we were on our way home, and we were ready to take on life at home with our beautiful little girl.
As many of you also know, I truly enjoy and love cycling. I am a part of a team called the Durango Derailers, riders on a mission to help raise money to support families like mine who need assistance while in the care of Children’s Hospital.
I can’t tell you how grateful our family was from the help we received from friends and family while in Denver. My ultimate goal is to help another family who will live through a similar situation.
All I am asking for is your help, whether that is in the form of a donation, or signing up to join our team and do your own fundraising! Help our team help the families in need!
