My name is Lucy and have Citrullinemia, a rare metabolic disorder. My younger sister, Liddy and I have been patients at Children’s Hospital Colorado our whole lives. I am riding in this year’s Courage Classic to support kids with rare metabolic disorders.
Children’s Hospital means a lot to my family, as they have taken exceptional care of me and my sister over the years. Not only have they gone above and beyond in making sure we are healthy, but they have also supported my efforts to train a medical service dog for metabolic patients who deal with dangerous ammonia levels.
There are so many causes out there to support, and they are all great. But this one impacts Lid and I personally, so it is extra special to me.
