Friends, it’s hard to believe that it’s been just over two years since my nephew, Fynn, passed away. Instead of his presence, we now have memories. Memories of his knowing glance, wry smile, impish grin, and ability to draw a smile from even the most resistant.
You may recall that he suffered from a rare form of brain cancer called DIPG. Sadly, the fact is that this cancer kills every child who is unfortunate enough to have it.
As a testament to his spirit, as a way to honor his life, and as a way to try to help others, I will ride again this year with my brother, Kevin, his wife, Colleen, my nephew Wyatt, and many, many others with the Wheels of Justice team in the Courage Classic. The Courage Classic is a ride to benefit Children’s Hospital in Denver (where Fynn had been treated), and the Wheels of Justice team enables us to target the funds raised to directly fund research for children’s cancer and blood disorders.
When I think of other children and their families, who are (or will be, in the future) forever impacted by DIPG, I know that I want to do all I can to help – including raising awareness, and, no doubt, raising money.
Please join me, Kevin, Colleen, Wyatt, and the Wheels of Justice – either in the ride itself (please reach out to me - we’d be delighted to have you ride with us!) or in making a donation, large or small. Our team raised nearly $400,000 last year, and my goal is to raise $2000 this year. If you would like to donate, please click the "Donate Now" button in the upper right.
Thank you so much.
