Welcome to my fundraising page. As you may know, Daniel and I have participated in years past both as volunteers and as riders in Children's Hospital's largest annual fundraiser - the Courage Classic. The event involves an 80+ mile bike ride through the Rocky Mountains over two days. This year, we are excited to cycle for a special little guy.
Our sweet Benjamin Blaise was born on January 28, 2020 at 4 pounds, 13 ounces. Within a few minutes of his arrival the doctors informed us of their suspicions that he has Down Syndrome. The news was very shocking to Daniel and myself, and truthfully to our whole family as there has not been a history of anyone in our extended family. The days that followed his birth in the hospital were a bit challenging for us both emotionally and spiritually. Amidst the news, our little Benno had to undergo a great deal of blood work and tests on his heart over his first few weeks. We are very thankful that after a few tough weeks and a few days under the care of the NICU nurses, he is very healthy and is quite the little peaceful joy. Additionally, we are thankful for the resources that are available to us via his pediatrician and through the Anna and John J. Sie Center for Down Syndrome at Children's Hospital Colorado.
I do not think it to be a coincidence that I had the opportunity to work for some time with the wonderful team at Children's Hospital. As a result I am familiar with many of the wonderful doctor's to whom little Benno has already been referred.
I pray for your support of the care for our sweet Benno by helping me to raise money for the Dare to Ride Team, sponsoring the Sie Center for Down Syndrome. Blessings!
