This ride is dedicated to our late son, Fynn William Cox, who just recently passed away on April 9th, 2017 at the young age of 7. Although we originally planned to participate in this ride as a 4-person family, we are still dedicated to the fight for cancer and the support of Children's Hospital Colorado which has provided an overwhelming amount of support to us and Fynn starting at an early age when he was diagnosed with Dup15q, a very rare genetic disorder, and then DIPG (an inoperable/incurable brain cancer) this last December, 2016. Approximately 200-300 children in America are diagnosed with DIPG and leave parents and siblings behind at a very early age.
We call ourselves "The Fynn Fighters" because we have poured our heart and soul into helping Fynn grow in every possible way for his future. Sadly, the fight all came to an abrupt end this past Sunday and he passed en route to Children's Hospital while he was in the Flight for Life helicopter.
Please join me, Colleen and Wyatt, as we honor Fynn and all the light and joy he brought into this world, in supporting the Children's Hospital Colorado and the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. We have joined forces with the Wheels of Justice team who ensures every dollar raised will go toward the CCBD; the results of this funding are tangible to us because the Research Fellow who ran lab tests on Fynn's biopsied brain tissue was paid with the funds raised by this team.
We appreciate your help in donating and sharing for this cause. We hope that one day, there will be a cure for this horrible disease that tears families apart with great suffering and in the end leaves parents and siblings with an irreversible void in their families.
