We are supporting the Courage Classic for children like Koby.
For the fifth year, we are part of the Wheels of Justice Team, raising funds to support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) at Children's Hospital of Colorado.
Koby was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor, in March 2016. Our lives were turned upside down, but filled with meaning and grit over the next 23 months. Koby passed away Jan 19, 2018, just seven weeks after his bar mitzvah.
Our family attended the Courage Classic in 2016, and decided to ride together in 2017, 2018, and 2019. It was a highlight for all of us. It was empowering and it was great to be part of such a positive community.
In 2020, the Courage Classic went virtual due to COVID- and Micah took his experience with the Front Rangers youth bike club to create his own local bike ride- the Tour de Koby. We rode 65 miles together- with over 50 friends participating throughout the community.
Since the Courage Classic ride is on Shabbat this year (and we don't roll on Shabbos) Micah is creating the 2nd Annual Tour de Koby in Denver, on August 15th, 2021.
Here's how you can help:
1) Donate to support Micah, Salomon, or me on our ride
2) Participate in Micah's Tour de Koby on 8/15 (multiple route lengths and support station opportunies are available) bit.ly/TourdeKoby
3) Join the Courage Classic in Copper this summer!
Our team, Wheels of Justice, will be honoring Koby this year- so we still plan to spend Shabbat in the village and look forward to supporting our team!
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children.
We appreciate your support, in the many ways it comes. If there is any way you can contribute to this ride, and help support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital of CO, we'd be most appreciative.
