I ride to give hope to Children's Hospital Colorado patients and their families. I have been part of Children's Hospital since 1989, first as a nurse, then a mother, and later a provider. As many of you know, our son Kevin has followed closely at Children's for a rare endocrine disorder. Throughout the course of his twenty-one years, Children's was often a "second home," for Kevin, particularly when he was younger. Thanks to the expert care that Kevin has received, he has been able to fufill his dreams and realize that his diagnosis is not what defines him, but something he can manage while chasing his dreams! As a nurse practitioner in pulmonary medicine, I have been honored to work alongside skilled professionals who are changing the way we think about breathing for a lifetime. I am continually humbled by the opportunity to care for children and their families as they navigate the uncertainty that accompanies health challenges and I am grateful for the ability to impact their care.
Our son Kevin will not be the last person to face a life-threatening illness, and our family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
The Courage Classic is not only a personal challenge, but also an opportunity to support positive outcomes and healthier futures for children.
Thank you for all your support!
