If you haven't realized it yet, I love bikes - riding them, drooling over them, watching racing... I also love Colorado and everything this amazing state has to offer. The Courage Classic allows for 2 amazing days of riding in beautiful Summit County with routes tackling Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass, Battle Mountain, Vail Pass, Ute Pass, and Loveland Pass (unofficially, but hey it’s right there!). Over three days about 2500 riders have the option of riding 40-80 miles per day enjoying the scenery of Summit County. All of this is supported by an amazing crew of volunteers.
But the Courage Classic is more than just a bike ride. Each year, riders and sponsors concert to donate a total of nearly 2.5 million dollars to Children’s Hospital Colorado. CHC is one of the best children’s hospitals in the country serving patients from seven states in the area. There is a large population of underserved children that are treated here and the money raised by the Courage Classic goes to help families of those patients by assisting not only with medical costs, but with housing costs for long term stays, food and clothing costs, and anything patients and families may need during their stay at CHC.
This will be my seventh year involved with this amazing team. Arc Thrift Classics is a spirited group of cyclists, many of whom work or go to school at Anschutz Medical Campus where CHC is located. We started as Team AHEC, then rebranded as Jelly Belly for Kids in 2013 and 2014. This year marks our fourth year as the ARC Thrift classics. In the past, as a team we’ve been a top-10 team for overall fundraising and aim to again, but can’t do it without the support of generous sponsors like you!
There’s no donation too little or too large – every bit helps.
I’ve donated, have you???
