I am supporting the Courage Classic for kids like my sister Gracie and brother Caleb.
First, my sister Grace. She had a big problem with her left ventrical. It was so small it was practicaly missing! She was on the list for a heart transplant but she was really small which made it harder, and a heart didn't come in time. Grace is actually my big sister. She would be going into 9th grade if she was still alive.
Next, my brother Caleb. He pretty much has the same problem as Grace, only it is less severe. He is now seven and will be eight in January but like Grace, he is pretty small too.
But the big reason I'm riding is because I don't want other kids to never have the chance to know their sibilings, like me.
Grace and Caleb will not be the last childern to face a life-threatening illness, and our family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis. The Courage Classic is both a personal challenge and an opportunity to support positive outcomes for kids and families who rely on Children's Colorado for care.
