I ride because I am a cancer patient and have received amazing care at Children's Hospital Colorado.
I was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma when I was 13, on the second day of 8th grade. After seven months of treatment at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) I was cancer free.
I've experienced some ups and downs over the following years marked by periods of NED (no evidence of disease) and cancer relapses. I'm back in treatent again after a fifth relapse this April. There are signs the treatment is working, and I have adapted an immune boosting, cancer fighting lifestyle (including diet, exercise and meditation) to help me with the battle. I'm not going to let cancer define me, and I'm not giving up; life goes on. I turned age 18 in January, graduated from Boulder High School in May and plan to attend the University of Colorda Boulder this August.
My goal for the 2019 Courage Classic was to be the number one fundraiser, and I did meet that goal, riding for the Wheels of Justice Team, raising over $120,000 for the CCBD at Children's Hospital Colorado! Given the 2020 Classic has been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic, it seems odd to ask for donations, but Children's Hospital Colorado continues to do their job, under trying circumstances and increased day-to-day costs. The CCBD at Childen's Hospital Colorado needs your help more than ever. So if you can help, please make a donation. And help me to get to #1 in 2020. TODAY, AUGUST 31st, IS THE LAST DAY TO DONATE.
Thank you so much!
