Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out my fundraising page for the 2019 Courage Classic to benefit Childrens Hospital of Colorado.
I am once again riding with the Cardiac Climbers, a team benefiting the Heart Institute of Childrens Hospital of Colorado.
Our theme “It’s personal” means that each rider on our team dedicates their ride to a patient that has been or is being treated at the Heart Institute. For that past few years I have been riding for, and gotten to know, a wonderful girl by the name of Zayne.
Zayne was born with congenital heart disease, and was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy (RCM) at 14 months old. Since there is no known cure for RCM, Zayne was closely monitored by her doctors. As she got older, her heart failure became more pronounced and she wasn't growing well. With a heart catheterization showed advancing heart failure, and Zayne's physical state declining, she was listed for a heart transplant in March 2015. On June 29, 2015, a call came in that a new heart was available, and Zayne underwent heart transplant surgery. She was discharged from the hospital after 1 week and has been growing and thriving ever since. Zayne enjoys horseback riding, biking, Tae Kwon Do, swimming, and playing with her cat, Scotty. She will be a 3rd grader in the fall.
Help me raise money for the Childrens Hosiptal of Colorado, the Cardiac Climbers, and more kids like Zayne! This year I hope to reach a goal of $1000 in fundraising, my biggest year yet!
