Dear Friends and Family,
It's time to saddle up and ride! Yes, I am venturing into my second year riding in the Courage Classic! My running shoes remain in the closet for now as I prepare for another tour to benefit the kids I care for each day! I managed the 80+ miles of mountain passes last year, none the worse for wear. I hope to repeat this year, perhaps a little better prepared since I now know what I am facing. And I will again have Steve to pull me up the mountain pass in case I BONK! Whew!!
Children's Hospital Colorado provides care to kids with complex disease, and as anesthesiologists, we play an integral role in orchestrating and providing care for these children both in and out of the operating room. As a member of the Department of Anesthesiology for the past 9 years, I have had the privilege of caring for many kids and sharing smiles and tears with them and their families.
I have walked the halls of the OR with my own child, so I know from both sides of the fence how difficult it can be to put your child and your trust in the hands of others. This July, I will ride for the children I have treated, and my for own children who have been treated. I will be riding once more, approximately 81 miles over 2 days to support and advance anesthesia care of kids with complex illness.
Please consider supporting me in my quest to not fall over with my feet still clipped to my pedals! Our Team, "The Dream Team", is raising money to support anesthetic care and research for kids at Children's Hospital Colorado. All support and well-wishes are greatly appreciated! Don't wait - become a "Dream Maker" today!!
Thanks and Cheers!
