I ride to in memory of my daughter Hazel and to support fellow patients at the Children's Hospital Colorado.
As Hazel's parents, we were determined to allow Hazel every opportunity to have a full life. Hazel's appetite for adventures never waned. The Courage Classic has become a special way for our family to honor Hazel's life, particulary the four adventurous summers we spent with her, and gives us something positive to focus on as we approch the anniversary of her passing on August 4. She would often sit at the door with shoes in hand, signing "Go!"—--and go we did, taking her on adventures around Colorado. To honor the spirit of "Hazel Says 'Go!'", I am riding in the Courage Classic to help children like her. Our team, Wheels of Justice, raises funds for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital Colorado. Participating in my fundraising efforts means directly funding research to improve cancer treatment and outcomes in children. Now, more than ever, this group dedicated scientists and medical professionals relies on fundraising from the community to enable research.
This year, the Courage Classic is a virtual ride due to COVID and our whole family will be riding a special route to remember Hazel and her sense of adventure. We are still working the details and will update when we have finalized our route. Until then, would you please consider donating?
Thank you so much for your consideration of this cause. The CCBD and Children's Hospital Colorado have a very special place in my heart. Any donation helps, no matter the amount.
Thank you!
Dave
