Mental health is a big part of the reason why I became a fundraiser for Children's Hospital Colorado nearly 20 years ago. Mental health issues are very personal and close to my heart as I have navigated my own challenges as well as those of my family's. Long before the Covid pandemic arrived, our state has been faced with startling statistics such as suicide remaining the number one cause of death for 10-24 year olds. I have seen the numbers daily at Children's Hospital Colorado as our in-patient rooms remain at capacity as suicide rates continue to increase due to our kids facing isolation, anxiety and all the unknowns that Covid has brought on.
This is my first year riding with our newly formed Psyched to Climb team. As the only team in the Courage Classic solely supporting pediatric mental health, our 57 challengers are hell-bent on PUSHING PAST OUR GOAL OF $125,000. Any gift you can make will make a big impact for our Pediatric Mental Health Institute
Our Hospital is committed to kids and teens who are in crisis with mental health challenges. Out of 22 comparable children’s hospitals across the country, we are 1 of only 6 that have a psychiatric and behavioral health program. Only one other offers the comprehensive breadth and depth of mental health services that we do. We lose millions of dollars helping kids in mental health crisis every year. In fact, many pediatric mental health providers across Colorado have been forced to close because the deficit is too great. Despite this financial reality, we stay true to our north star of doing what is right for kids. At Children’s Colorado, we say enough is enough.
THANK YOU LOYAL DONORS AND FRIENDS! HELP ME PUSH WAY PAST MY GOAL OF $20,000.
Ride on,
Anne
