COURAGE CAN'T BE STOPED. GO THE DISTANCE. ALL FOR KIDS.
I am excited to be riding in my 7th Courage Classic with my friends and colleagues from the Emergency Department and Network of Care sites (Level One Cycling Team! -- formerly known as "The Frequent Flyers").
Wow. This year is unlike any other. 2020 is when we as front line medical providers have really been put to the test. Everyone is experiencing the stress differently and I would be lying if I said I didn't show up to work every day with some degree of anxiety. But I show up. And all of my colleagues continue to show up. We believe in our mission to support health and wellness for the kids and families of Colorado. I cannot say how proud I am of my team who continues to rise to the occasion in every way during these stressful times. I am so grateful to work with this ED team of amazing providers, nurses and support staff!!
Courage Classic looks a little different this year-- we are socially distanced and participating virtually. Sadly, we won't get to have our big hoorah in the mountains this summer, but we will all be participating individually, supporting Children's Colorado. While we wish we could be together, this does give us an opportunity for creativity! We can road bike, moutnain bike, run, hike or... anything... to support Children's! I'd love a challenge-- make a donation and challenge me to someting- a 5k? a half marathon? hike a 14er? ride a century? I'll do it (the bigger the challenge, the bigger the donation, please!)
Children's Colorado (and probably just about every hospital nationwide) is experiencing the same economic difficulties as the rest of the non-medical world (surprising, I know!) We know the rest of the country is struggling as well. If you're able, we would appreciate any donations to help support the mission of Children's Hospital Colorado! Your donation is tax deductible and every dollar helps. Thank you for supporting us!
BECAUSE SICK KIDS DON'T GET A BREAK FROM MEDICAL TREATMENTS. EVEN IN A PANDEMIC.
