The cycling and philantrophic community have a long history (31 years) of supporting Children's Hospital Colorado through the annual Courage Classic bicycle tour. Our family has volunteered and Colette has participated as a cyclist for many years in an attempt to support the riders and raise money for the hospital.
COVID-19 has altered the ability to celebrate the camaraderie and generous support that two days in the beautiful Colorado Rockies facilitates each summer.
The 31st Courage Classic has moved to a virutal format in response to the impacts of COVID-19 and limitations on assembling in large groups. This format has allowed me to partner with Colette to participate together in setting a distance goal to be accomplished in the month of July. It is 125 miles round trip between Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs and Children's Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Colette and I are committed to this distance over the coming weeks through a combination of running, cycling and forcing the kids to go on a family hike.
The Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs leadership set andambitious fundraising goal and Colette and I have set our family goal at $10,000.
Colette and I appreciate your consideration of our request to support Children's Hospital Colorado through recognition of our virtual participation in the 31st Courage Classic to acheive our $10,000 fundraising goal. Every dollar of each contribution will go directly to suppport patients and their families from southern Colorado and the surrounding states needing services provided by Children's Hospital Colorado - the #6 rated pediatric hospital in the country.
