Friends and Family,
For a fourth year, I'm fundraising for the Courage Classic in memory of my daughter, Hazel. This year was bound to be different from the start- we were to be riding with our children on the family raide for the first time- but now that the world has changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, so has this year's ride. Because the official in-person supported ride has been cencelled in lieu of a virtual event, every participant's ride is bound to look a little different. We're still figuring out what will work best for our family and will update with pictures as it unfolds.
As you well know, I ride in memory of our daughter, Hazel, who passed away in 2014 nearly three years after her diagnosis with Anaplastic Ependymoma, a type of brain cancer. As we approach the sixth anniversary of her death, we continue to honor her adventurous spirit and zest for new experiences as we raise money for the children who are fighting a fight like hers- and those children who are not yet diagnosed. Money raised by our team, the Wheels of Justice, goes to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hosptital Colorado, helping to fund research and other programs leading to better results and improved quality of life for children living with cancer.
I understand that this year has brought new challenges to everyone, particularly financial challenges, and it is with hesitation that I reach out to ask for donatons during this difficult time. That being said, cancer does not slow down for a pandemic, and newly diagnosed children and their families are going through treatments and learning to navigate this new life, despite the pandemic and all its additional risks and stresses risks, every day. I humbly ask that you consider a donation to our family's fundraising efforts. Even the smallest donatons count!
With love and gratitude,
