Courage Classic 2022 - Welcome to Tom's Ride!

Donate Now

Welcome to 2022! This year brings a return to a legitimate 2-day Courage Classic ride with the echoes of COVID-19 hopefully fading into the past. This year's ride on July16-17 will send us around the beautiful and challenging Copper Triangle on day 1. Then day 2 will include another major mountain pass and a loop around Dillon Reservoir with an early afternoon climb back up Ten-Mile Canyon to the finish at Copper Mountain. So training has begun and I'm spinning with anticipation!

This year is special for me in another way because the fight against childhood cancer has become more personal. Friends at my church have a 5-yr old son, who until 1 day before his sixth birthday, was battling a brain/spinal cancer attack with Warrior's Spirit. Everyone who knew him prayed with great hope that his cancer could be beaten, but it turned out that God chose to beat the cancer by taking this little man home to be with Jesus. His passing will not be forgotten and the visions he gave us of the joy that was waiting for him beyond this life were simply astounding in their honesty and beauty. This little guy really saw things as they are, not as we wish they might be.

Your support of research funding at Children's can help make it possible that we'll not run out of options for kids when there is still Warrior Spirit within them to fight the battle against their disease. I ask you to give what you can to further the research so that the available options for fighting cancer in kids are both more effective and more numerous.

As for the past three tours, my company Ball Aerospace will set up a great opportunity for leveraging your donation. Ball has an extremely generous policy regarding support of community charitable donations. Due to their generosity, every dollar I personally donate to Children's Hospital will be matched by the company up to a limit of $3000. To take advantage of this leverage, I am committing to match my donors' contributions up to a personal limit of $1500.

The details of my matching plan commitment to you are that every sponsorship of $50 or more, I will personally match at 100%. The funds I donate to the Hospital up to $1500 will then be matched by Ball Aerospace at 100%. The bottom line is that sponsorships of $50 or more will be multiplied by 3! This is a fantastic way for you all to leverage your donation to the maximum advantage! Of course, any amount is greatly and deeply appreciated, but if you hit the $50 level or beyond, your donation will be multiplied according to these terms.

Please consider sponsoring me, and leveraging your donation to the max for the kids at the Hospital and the research that benefits them so amazingly!

If you prefer to donate offline, I can provide you with a form. Just ask!

-Tom

Courage Classic donations in general support the Children's Fund, which serves the greatest needs of our patients. However, teams which reach a certain fundraising threshold may designate the gifts they raise to support a specific Children's Hospital Colorado program or service line. If your donation supports a rider or team to which this becomes applicable, you will receive an email notification.
