When the snow melts and the roads clear in the Rockies, you know it's time for me to get on my bike and -- with your help -- raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado.
This will be my 7th year riding in the Courage Classic, but it will be Chase's second. Chase was born 2 months early in full cardiac arrest and spent nearly 3 months in the Children’s Hospital Colorado NICU.
When he was old enough to ride a bike he asked his mom, Laura, if he could ride with her in the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour. Given his medical challenges, this was no small feat, but Chase was determined to learn to ride a bike. After a lot of hard work (and falls), Chase rode with Laura's Durango Derailers Team of family and friends across the Courage Classic finish line -- a true testament to his courage and strength against all odds.
Chase will not be the last child to face a life-threatening illness, and his family will not be the last to navigate a frightening diagnosis.
Please support my ride by making a contribution on behalf of all the kids like Chase being treated at Children's Hospital Colorado.
