Courage Classic-COVID-19 Virtual Tour #31
I am participating for my 8th time in the Courage Classic. This will be a different year, but just as important.
Like so many things during COVID-19, the Courage Classic 2020 has had to make adjustments. It will be a virtual ride for each of us. I will probably be riding in the mountains with my family. Although the official gathering will be canceled, childhood cancer has not taken a break.
To quote Children’s Hospital Colorado, this year’s theme is “Courage Can’t Be Stopped"
because in the face of adversity, medical challenges, and even in a global pandemic…
the courage of the kids, families and caregivers for whom we “ride” cannot be stopped.
It is my ongoing desire to honor the memory of my dear granddaughter, Hazel, who would have been 9 years old on April 9th this year. She lost her battle with Ependymoma at the age of 3 years and 4 months. BUT she lived a very full life and impacted many people for the better with her spirit and love.
I am part of The H-Team, which is for Hazel and a larger team, The Wheels of Justice. The funds we raise go directly to the outpatient center, The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD), where Hazel received most of her care and cancer treatments.
If you able to support me for Hazel and the CCBD, I am deeply thankful.
Stay well and strong. Remember Hazel says “GO!”
