Thank you for coming to my fundraising page! This summer, I am riding the Courage Classic for Children’s Hospital Colorado to raise money for the Sie Center for Down Syndrome at Children's.
As many of you know, my daughter Olivia (16) happens to have Down syndrome, and has faced many medical and developmental challenges during her young life. Olivia has experienced first hand on numerous occasions (fortunately none lately!) the great care provided by the professionals at Children's. Olivia has also taken full advantage of The Sie Center for Down Syndrome at Children’s Hospital Colorado which provides high quality comprehensive consultation to kids with Down syndrome and their parents. The center opened its doors in November 2010 (Olivia was Dr. Hickey’s very first patient in Denver!) and Olivia has been going there ever since.
On Saturday, July 17, I will completed the ride that is commonly referred to as the Copper Triangle. I will start at my journey at Copper Mountain Ski Resort and proceeded to tackle the first climb of the day - Freemont Pass – which tops out at 11,600 feet and then enjoyed a long (downhill) cruise into Leadville. Next, I will tackled both Tennessee Pass and Red Cliff and arrive in Minturn for the lunch break. Afterwards, I will ride through Vail Valley, climb the long, arduous Vail Pass and cruise to Copper Mountain Ski Resort to complete the epic ride. In total, I will ride 80 miles with over 7,000 feet of climbing. It will be a great day for a great cause.
Please consider donating to the Sie Center in support of my ride. Any amount will be greatly appreciated!
