This year will be my ninth year riding the Courage Classic. The Courage Classic is a two day bike ride in Summit County that benefits the Children’s Hospital Colorado. I ride on a team called The Gene Team, so all the money that I fundraise goes to the genetics and metabolics department of the hospital. I ride the Courage Classic because my brother Kyle had Pompe Disease, a metabolic disease which is caused by a genetic mutation that prevents the cells from breaking down glycogen to glucose. He received excellent care at the hospital even though there was no cure for the disease.
The first day of the Courage Classic is 80 miles. It starts in Copper Mountain and goes over three passes and a mountain, including Vail Pass. The second day is 40 miles, but I’m taking the 84 mile option route again which goes up Ute Pass.
This year, my fundraising goal is $2,000. I have already raised $2,090 going door to door with my brother, so I will get $1,045. Can you please donate to my ride? To donate, you can click the “Donate Now” button on this website.
